CONCERT REVIEW: HOMESHAKE RICKSHAW STOP SAN FRANCSICO APRIL 11TH 2017

uh like 4 years ago i saw homeshake at teh premiere san francisco independent music venue "rickshaw stop," named after one of my heroes, notable 80s SF post punk scenester joe rickshaw, whos friends often had to tell him to stop while he guzzled down bottles of antifreeze thinking it was gatorade (this habit eventually killed him) his sardonic and brain asphyxiated writing is felt deeply in all california-born and raised music journalists (like me!) and has even inspired a line of sports drinks in his honor that contain microdoses of anti freeze in them so you can really feel what he felt they are still sold at vatious convenience and record stores in the city, i got this one at the berkeley amoeba records

i love "sf," san francisco is over all an underrated city theres so much to do at night so many fun clubs you can meet all sorts of cool people and learn things about your self and your sexuality... ...not to mention the babes!!!

note to any other hip people thinking of moving to/visiting the San Fran as we natives call it.. stay away from teh tenderloin.. its scary!!!!!

as a matter of fact, stay away from the whole city, its a fucking pile of shit. the only people that live in san francisco are homeless people that live there bc the weather is great year round but are constantly getting fucked by everyone around them and yuppie startup faggots that are actively fuckign them and paying the city to put spikes on sidewalks and team fortress 2 level 2 and 3 sentry guns in underpasses. it is an unredeemable wasteland of shit and shit eaters, a gray assortment of glass and steel and ironic tim and eric style vitamin water billboards

(pictured: sf transplant yuppies performing one of their favorite activities: riding the "cable truck")

if you are some sort of acid flashback weed smoking moron deadhead you might think the spirit of free love haight ashbury san francisco is still alive somehwere...
but no... all that remains is SHIT!!!!!!!!!

what the fuck is this shit??????????

but anyway the homeshake show... for those who dotn know homeshake is mac demarcos former guitarist Pete Seeger who has his own chillwave indie rock project thats got the chorusy warble guitar still but a little more RnB "flavor" (theyre all white still). when i saw him i was a big fan of his record midnight snack and the debut homeshake tape, and he was about to release a followup record to MS called FRESH AIR and i was excited to hear some songs from it live..

...some horrible band called like vegetable potpurri or healing diarrhea or somethign opened and while they "played" their set i went to merch table and pete "homeshaker" sagar was there and i made him wear these incredibly gay sunglasses and take a photo w me in exchange for me buying two of his tapes (this is what we call customer service!!!!!!) and then it was time 4 them to play....
..they were okay. tv volume was a lot lot better live than it ended up being on record for what its worth. i loved hearing the midnight snack stuff live especially 'give it to me' felt really good bc he did a big pause in the middle. overall i was a really stupid young person and i didnt really know what was happening at any given moment and this kid from my school a grade above me who had an indie rock band that just sounded like boring pavement but was really popular saw me and asked me to take a picture of them and it felt really weird and i was there with this girl i was dating at the time who was really into the demarcosphere and was really stupid hi a****n if yr reading this i saw everything u said about me so dont go crying to your new bf bitch lollll but would i go see homeshake again probably not but soemhow i have seen them 2 times after this show which is truly a testament to my weakness of will.
